Women Fucking Rock! Happy International Womens Day!

international womens day

For those who ask why we have #InternationalWomensDay here are just a few reasons from my personal experience:

– My own family members have constantly told me that I’m not lady like and that I’m weird because I like things that “aren’t for girls”

– Uni peeps and work colleagues have told me that I’m bossy, just because I voice my opinion and don’t just agree with the men

– I’ve been in many 3-way CONVERSATIONS (get your mind out the gutter) with me and 2 guys, we’re all talking but the guys are just looking at each other like I’m not there

– The women at badminton apologise when missing shots but the guys NEVER EVER DO. When I tell everyone the score some of the guys look at the other guys to confirm if that’s correct

– If I’m passionate then I’m angry

– If I speak up, then I’m bossy

– I have nieces and nephews who are young but still think that certain toys and activities are for “boys” or “girls”

– I have family members who are really sexist and think that it’s funny when I voice my feminist opinions “Jenna’s getting her knickers in a twist again”

– I have family members who are so sexist they really disregard my fiance and my jobs, and see them as unimportant in comparison to my brother’s

– People close to me still comment on the way women look, what they’re wearing or how fat they are. It’s always “the mum’s up the school are rough” never “the dad’s up the school are rough” is that because there’s no dads up the school? Or is it OK for men to look how they want but women need to make an effort?

– Colleagues have told me to smile, they never told my male colleague to smile, even though we smile the same amount

– WOMEN’S JEANS HAVE SHIT POCKETS!! Where do we put our mobile, wallet and dildo? Not all of us have clutch bags

There are some men in my life who treat me and other women with the same respect as men and for that I truly cherish these friendships. Thank you for being respectful, honest, open and a great human.

So #InternationalWomensDay, let’s celebrate our womanhood and fight the patriarchy not just today but everyday ❤️ #BalanceforBetter 💪

P.s. Sorry family members for all the comments about you, but you need to stop being so sexist.

Love,

Jenna
